Because of the shortage of priests, priests in the Diocese of Youngstown are primarily called to parish ministry as pastor, administrator, or associate pastor. However, some priests have additional ministries in the Diocese such as:

• executive director of department of clergy and religious services
• director of continuing education and formation of priests
• director of vocations
• bishop's delegate for retired priests
• administrator of Emmaus House (retired priests' residence)
• executive director of canonical services
• director of office of conciliation
• judicial vicar
• diocesan tribunal judge
