Because of the shortage of priests, priests in the Diocese of Youngstown are primarily called to parish ministry as pastor, administrator, or associate pastor. However, some priests have additional ministries in the Diocese such as:

  • hospital chaplain
  • chaplain of physically and developmentally disabled, hearing impaired
  • spiritual advisor for AIDS ministry
  • high school administrator, teacher, or chaplain

  • chaplains to various religious congregations serving in our Diocese
